Working Beyond ORI: Building Connections That Create More Opportunities

Linda and I recently traveled to Oregon, combining some business with family time. Beyond visiting both of our parents, a big goal of the trip was locking in a partnership with two resorts: Bend RV Resort and Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort. Both come recommended by ORI owners, and Pacific Shores in particular is a property we have our own history with through Outdoor Resort of America and Marathon Coach.

Our first stop was Bend RV Resort, and it did not disappoint. The facility was clean and well-maintained, the staff was friendly, and the location near Bend's shopping made it easy to enjoy everything the area has to offer. It's the kind of place that makes summer feel like it should last a little longer. A few things that stood out:

•       Prime Central Oregon location at 61105 SW Silverado Springs Drive, Bend — 10 minutes to Downtown Bend, 6 minutes to the Old Mill District

•       Newly built RV resort featuring a modern clubhouse design

•       Gateway to outdoor adventure: hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and ATV tours, with Mt. Bachelor and the Deschutes River nearby

•       Over 300 sunny days a year in Central Oregon

•       Resort amenities: heated swimming pool, hot tub, pickleball courts, fenced dog park, fitness center, laundry room, clubhouse, private restrooms/showers, business center, free WiFi, handicap accessible

•       Full hookup RV sites with modern comforts; some lots include private, fenced pet areas

•       Options for long-term stays available

•       Community touches: fire pit for s'mores and gatherings, on-site events calendar

From there we made our way to the coast and Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort, a place we've visited many times over the years. If you enjoy the Oregon coast, this resort is for you. We always find friendly owners, easy beach access from the resort, and incredible coastline and lighthouse views, with Newport just minutes away. Highlights include:

•       5-star luxury motorcoach resort in Newport, Oregon, on the coast at 6225 North Coast Hwy 101

•       Oceanfront setting with spectacular sunsets, private beach access, and whale watching

•       Exclusively for Class A and Class C motorcoaches (no Class B, travel trailers, or 5th wheels)

•       Luxurious lots with resort-style amenities: welcome center, clubhouse, pools, spas, and sauna

•       Fitness and recreation: workout facility, basketball and pickleball courts, billiards

•       Beach and walking trails throughout the resort

•       Guest laundry, free WiFi, and dog runs

Management at both resorts was wonderful to work with, and we're now working through the details of a partnership that could benefit everyone: cross-marketing between the two resorts. Since they sit in opposite seasons and don't compete with each other directly, it's a natural fit, and one that should mean more renters and more lot sales on both sides.

The trip wasn't all business. We carved out time with friends in Florence for a fantastic dinner, some music, and an evening by the river. A big thanks to Phil, Susan, Trish, Ross, Roger, Sheila, and Pattie for the memory. Then it was back to the heat, and back to work making next season the best one yet.
